Google Chrome OS Postponed Until 2011
One Google's most ambitious project, Google Chrome OS is forecast to have the potential to change desktop and mobile computing in the long term. Android's success make it questioning the OS to match Android's success. It should be note to developers to not delay release. Google CEO, Eric Schmidt speaks Chrome is not so much about the OS on Web Summit 2.0. In fact, this web-based operating system should have already started to be released this fall or no later than the end of this year.
Eric revealed that the OS will come in Chrome "A few months away." It is still same as that expressed itself a few months ago. In return, Google will release Android 2.3 Gingerbread in the next few weeks. Remember there are only six weeks left in this year, appears speculation that the Chrome OS will not be launched in 2010 and will miss the holiday season this year. Google never set a clear deadline for operating system, so Chrome the OS is still possible to come end of this year.
Eric also gave details more about the settings that apply to OS Chrome and Android separately. Chrome OS aimed for devices with a keyboard while Android aimed at touch-screen device. This is evident Google's explanation does not match the previous revealed that the two platforms will be competitive. Currently, Android has been very well integrated to smartphones and even tablet and it is not will replace the traditional operating system on larger devices.
